Health department to celebrate "Global iodine deficiency disorder control day"

Awareness programs will be held in all the medical facilities of Chhattisgarhs will be celebrating "Global Iodine Deficiency Disorder Control Day" from October 21 to October 27.

 

These programs will include a range of initiatives to educate the public about iodine deficient problems, their prevention, the benefits of iodized salt, and its significance for people of all ages.

 

According to an official press release, iodized salt will be promoted for use by the public in all medical facilities, including district administrative offices.

 

Dr. Kamlesh Jain, the State Nodal Officer of the Iodine Deficiency Disorder Control Program, Health Department, said that iodine deficiency is more prevalent among pregnant women and infants; hence all efforts are being made to increase public awareness related to iodine deficiency disorders and the benefits of using iodized salt to prevent them.
